eTOX
Integrating bioinformatics and chemoinformatics approaches for the development of expert systems allowing the in silico prediction of toxicities
The eTOX project aims to develop a drug safety database from the pharmaceutical industry legacy toxicology reports and public toxicology data, innovative methodological strategies and novel software tools to better predict the toxicological profiles of small molecules in early stages of the drug development pipeline.
This will be achieved by jointly storing and exploiting private data from the participating companies that are member of the European Federation of Pharmaceutical Industries and Associations (EFPIA), as well as publicly available data, and by coordinating the efforts of specialists from EFPIA companies, relevant SMEs and academic institutions. The proposed strategy includes a synergetic integration of innovative approaches.
